About Us
The Educational Technology Center is a hub for the exploration, development and dissemination of technology to enhance teaching and learning at Northeastern University. The Center is also an agent of change, helping to formulate policy on technology-supported teaching and learning.
The EdTech Center works collaboratively with faculty and administrators to design and develop high-end websites; build homegrown Web-based applications; customize open sources software and applications for university use; develop and implement internal and external grants; design curricula; and teach faculty in workshops and in one-on-one consultations. Participating in consortia and presenting at regional, national and international conferences, the staff has cultivated the EdTech Center's reputation as a center of excellence.
Annually, the EdTech Center considers its role in the University community. We evaluate progress made on existing goals and establish new goals that support the mission of Northeastern University. Recognizing that Northeastern is a dynamic institution steadily climbing the ranks of the nation's research universities, the EdTech Center works closely with the Office of the Provost to develop strategic plans that advance academic and research goals. The EdTech Center focuses on initiatives that contribute to the University's distinctiveness, providing faculty with innovative technology solutions. Center staff conduct R&D to stay abreast of advances in the field of educational technology and use this knowledge to create scaleable, sustainable projects.
