Insert a Picture Onto a Slide
You can insert a picture, or graphic file, onto a PowerPoint slide using one of the following methods:- From the Insert menu, select Picture, then choose one of the five options presented.
- Apply a Content Layout to the slide and click on the icon with a picture of a mountain.
- Click on mountain icon in the Drawing toolbar.
- Clip Art – Cartoon-type drawings that either come with PowerPoint or are imported from another program.
- From File – An image file in one of various formats (i.e., .bmp, .jpeg, .gif, .tif) that is created in another software program.
- Organization Chart – A tool in PowerPoint that helps you create standard org chart formats.
- AutoShapes – A useful collection of standard shapes, including lines, arrows, stars, flow chart shapes, and callout boxes.
- WordArt – Creative styles for formatting text.
Try it! Select one of the methods for inserting a picture onto a slide. Browse to the MyPictures folder on your hard drive, or locate another image file to insert. Experiment with different content layouts to see how you can control the size of an image.
