In 2005, the New Oxford American Dictionary named “podcast" its Word of the Year. Last year, the number of podcasts surpassed the total number of radio stations worldwide. And today, Northeastern University’s Bouve College of Health Sciences, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Computer Science, School of Technological Entrepreneurship, and Office of Alumni Relations feature podcasts with subjects ranging from continuing education for pharmacists to how to apply for a Fulbright award.

- Northeastern University's Second Life Island Launched
The Educational Technology Center and Marketing & Communications have completed phase one of Northeastern's presence in Second Life. Second Life is a online 3d immersive experience used by many businesses and educational institutions for meetings, demonstrations, conferences, research, collaboration and an array of other creative endeavors. Opportunity to receive digital recorder or camera for participating!
Attend one of our fall demonstrations and submit a RFP for a project or student assignment for Spring 2010. If your project is approved, you will receive a digital camera or voice recorder to develop it.
