http://neutrino.neu.edu:8080The EdTech Center provided instructional design consultation on an NSF grant-funded project to evaluate the effectiveness of the Biology curriculum by developing an evaluation rubric and using electronic portfolios to collect, organize, and display student work. Using Open Source Portfolio (OSP) software, the EdTech Center designed an e-portfolio system used by students in two consecutive semesters in the Biology Capstone course. The EdTech Center then developed tools for extracting portfolio data and facilitating external evaluation of student work in support of the grant goals. As an associated project, the EdTech Center created an online system for collecting evaluation reports from Biology co-op employers, so that students can include a digital version of this evaluation in their portfolios.
